Having more fun than golfers at a golf club PDF Print E-mail

For the first time, to my knowledge, at least, someone decided to play Junkyard Golf at a golf course. The event was  for representatives from "...over 60 companies...ranging from publishers such as Time, People, Sports Illustrated, Newsweek, TV Guide and Reader’s Digest to agents such as Publishers Clearinghouse, QSP School Fundraising Program and Synapse (Magazines for Airline Miles). The group’s largest event each year is held at a country club, where golfers and non-golfers alike spend a full day with their peers.

"We offered Junkyard Golf as an 11AM option for the non-golfers.   We called it Club House Team Challenge to keep the spirit of previous years’ successes.

"As they played the course, any player who shot a par or better was entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card.   Prizes are big with this group.  Someone got a hole in one and there was a TON of excitement.  In fact, as everyone was celebrating, the President of Time Consumer Marketing (who was a “real” golfer that day) happened to drive by in his cart and say, “You guys are having much more fun than the golfers…”
